The Tasks of Ming-Lo : December 1971

What the Press said ...

Young people

acted

with relish

What a delightful seasonal present for an aging critic! ... the play, in simple effective setting, was a Chinese folk tale enacted with relish and enthusiasm by young people.

Written by a talented member, Jacquie Russell, in collaboration with her gifted mother Ivy Russell, the direction was by the daughter. It was a story well told related in acceptable dramatic terms. ... and it was a pleasure to find The Young Theatre really doing its job, namely of entertaining its audience by efforts within its range.

Costumes were excellent, some beautiful. Under Stage Director, Alan Highet, an overall production team of a dozen worked most efficiently.
The Young Theatre has found a new lease of life and its future, dependent on continued hard work augurs sucess.
