The Story of The Young Theatre's Logo

Key dates   ·  Story of YT

Original       The first, original, logo used by The Young Theatre at North Harrow from the time of the first written Constitution in 1966 was something that developed from a doodle on a scrap of paper at what was obviously a pretty boring committee meeting!!
However, the current Young Theatre logo is a development of an original 1973 design by Margaret Tweedy, then a member of The Young Theatre at Harrow, who won a competition held within both groups (Harrow and Beaconsfield) to design a logo which reflected the activities of the organisation. Margaret's winning design was based not only on the letters Y and T but also on the two traditional masks of drama - comedy and tragedy       Logo2
The Young Theatre Archive’s Logo       Then, in 2007, Tim Hill - coincidentally one of the founder members of The Young Theatre (at Beaconsfield) - modified it for use by this Young Theatre Archive and also animated it.
and, two years later,Tim came up with this logo specifically for the XYT ex-member section of this YTArchive       Xyt bl t

The latest versions of the logos for the various sections of this website can be seen below.
Our current favourite logo variant is here where coincidentally you can see limited snapshots of many incarnations of the YTaB web site.
