Updates to the YTArchive Website and other news |
Tim Hill says: It's been nearly a year since the last newsletter. How remiss of me. I seem to have fallen into the Twitter/facebook trap of thinking 'everybody does that' when I know for a
fact that many of you don't. I apologise and hope you have been checking out the website anyway. To be honest, I seem to be suffering from a peverse form of Parkinson's Law and everything other than
the Archive seems to have been filling my time. Funnily enough, a recent reorganisation of my office has made me more productive! Winter has kept me off my motorcycle but even that has its
own web site (blue-bike.uk) and YouTube clips to maintain! Oh, and my new village (butterwick.info).
On the YTArchive front, there have been quite a few additions and major alterations in the last year as the gaggle of icons above will attest. No more will you see a simple table of changes as in previous newsletters; it's gone graphical. You may have discovered that hovering over the buttons reveals more information and I have tried to make the content more 'fluid' so that it should adapt to the width of your device. Let me know what you think. Following feedback, I am now using a simulator to make sure this page works on Apple toys so please let me know if you suffer with a blank page. Much more needs to be done to make the rest of the site tiny-screen compliant (landscape orientation can be better) but the gradual conversion to CSS will help with that.
The textual version of the latest changes to the site is, as always, here: youngtheatre.co.uk/latest
To celebrate Shakespeare's birthday I know the group are going to contact our alumni for a special (non-financial!) contribution. If you have not heard from them and would like to contribute, please get in touch. Here is my small contribution: the entire works of Shakespeare from Gutenburg in a 2MB zip file.
If you spot any errors or omissions, please get in touch.
The site lists 154 major productions and has 5,888 files amounting to 641MB.
If you can add names or any information, or to add your YT photos!
